Terms of use.
Last updated 22 September 2026. By using gps.so you agree to these terms.
The service
gps.so provides browser-based tools for photo and GPS workflows (including geotagging from a track, fixing camera clock offsets, stripping or auditing location metadata, and mapping geotagged folders). Features may change, and some capabilities may be limited or experimental.
Your files and responsibility
You are responsible for the files you process and for keeping backups of originals. The tools are designed to write output copies or exports rather than overwrite originals in place, but you should still verify results before relying on them (for example before publishing or deleting source files).
You confirm that you have the right to process the files you submit to the tools in your browser, and that your use complies with applicable law.
Client-side processing
Photo and track processing runs in your browser. Accuracy depends on your inputs (timestamps, timezone offset, track coverage, file formats supported by the current tools, and browser capabilities). Unmatched photos, gaps in a track, wrong offsets, and unsupported formats can produce incomplete or incorrect results. The tools do not guarantee perfect geotagging or metadata edits.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Abuse, disrupt, or attempt to compromise the website or its infrastructure.
- Use the site to violate the law or other people's rights (including privacy and intellectual property).
- Scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the service in a way that harms availability for others, except as allowed by law.
Intellectual property
The gps.so site, branding, and software are owned by the site operator or its licensors. You keep ownership of your own photos and tracks. You may use the tools for personal or commercial projects subject to these terms, unless we publish a different licence for a specific feature.
No warranty
The site and tools are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that results will be accurate, complete, or uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators of gps.so are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of the site or tools. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (if any) or (b) zero if the service was free.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Privacy
How we handle information is described in the Privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the site operator's place of establishment, without regard to conflict of law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country apply.
